Why We Are Called The Last Branch
"Sometimes you're the last branch left on the tree, and you have to figure out how to keep standing."
Our founder lost the people who were supposed to be her family and support system: her parents and her siblings. In the months that followed, she discovered how few places exist for people grieving the loss of an entire family, and how lonely it can feel to be the one left behind.
The Last Branch Foundation was created in their memory. It is what she needed in those moments: a place where someone can say, "I understand. You're not alone."
Today we offer peer support, connection, resources and community to people who have lost immediate family, so they can find hope again, rebuild their lives and keep honoring the people they love.
